Bio

This is my nineteenth year at Samson Elementary School and each year is more and more exciting, challenging and rewarding.  I have previously taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Third Grade and Fourth Grade.  I am currently teaching Second Grade.  After graduating Samson High School in 1992, I attended Enterprise State Junior College in Enterprise, AL before transferring to Troy State University in Troy, AL.  While at TSU, I majored in Early Childhood Education with dual certification in Elementary Education.  I taught for a few years before deciding to go back to college to obtain my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Troy University in Dothan, AL.

After finishing up my Masters Degree, during the summer of 2005; I married my best friend, John Slay, who also attended Samson High School.  We have three wonderful children, who keep us very busy.  I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family, we enjoy watching movies; going to the beach and relaxing at home.  We both live and work in Samson.  We're very proud of our community and I'm proud to be a part of the wonderful faculty at Samson Elementary School.
